Judge Denies Pete Kott's Motion to Dismiss But Leaves Him Out of Prison Pending Appeal

Everglades City, Florida--

District Court Judge John Sedwick ruled yesterday that while prosecutors should have provided additional materials to the defense before Pete Kott's trial, the verdicts against the former Republican State Representative from Eagle River still stood. The judge's order leaves Kott out of prison pending an appeal by the ex-state legislator to the Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals. More to come on this, particularly on the court's discussion of the allegations against Bill Allen of sexual abuse of minors.
